A Better Way to Track Long-Term Goals

Long-term goals fail quietly. Milestones and a simple journal keep them visible.

The distance problem

A goal six months out gives you no signal today. Nothing feels urgent, so nothing happens, until the deadline is suddenly close.

Break it into milestones

Milestones turn a distant outcome into a series of nearer ones. Each has its own small deadline, and hitting them provides the steady feedback a single far-off date can't.

Keep a plain journal

A short, honest note each week — what moved, what stalled — does more than any motivational slogan. The goal tracker's journal is deliberately plain: your words, not generated encouragement.
